Palm Springs- the Bob Hope

Well another week another city. Our stay in Palm Springs started off a little rough since both Danny and I got sick (most likely from our red eye flight back from Hawaii) So the beginning started with alot of time at the bus but things definitely perked up.
One fun element of the week was having mom and dad Summerhays down. We had so much fun walking the course, eating out, playing golf at the RV park and picking fresh oranges off the trees with them.
We also had a couple of fun park days with the boys in which we played about every sport imaginable. Both boys especially Jack, love anything with a ball but seem to be leaning towards golf for some odd reason. We spent many an hour on the grass horseshoe pit at our RV park practicing chip shots:) They are way too funny. The two pictures of the boys are us getting ready to go to the park for our sports extravaganza.
Golf wise it was also a great week. Despite not feeling amazing, Danny was able to put together 5 pretty amazing rounds and finish with a tie for 11th place which will most importantly give him a nice placement in the next reshuffle or in layman's terms, it will help him get into more tournaments this year.
We also had a ton of fun walking the last day with Boyd and Preston (Danny's brother and our nephew) who came down for the final round.
All in all it was a great week and we are loving being together with our family out on the road. We are excited for our next week in beautiful San Diego. Til next week...

Hawaii- The Sony

OK so the layout on this is pretty messed up because I'm still not sure how all of the works but I assume I'll figure it out as I go. Hawaii was such a fun week. We left Farmington on New Years Day and drove down to Palm Springs so we could get out of the freezing cold temperatures and so Danny could get ready for the season. We spent less than a week there but it was good to be back in the motor home again:)

We left that Friday for Hawaii and took the boys first really long flight. They did pretty well actually and we arrived in Hawaii to beautiful weather:) It turned out to be so nice that we got there early because we were able to actually see some of Hawaii before the tournament and the rain started.

We went to the beach, Pearl Harbor, Laie temple, North Shore and Giovanni's Shrimp Shack. We had such a blast just bashing around Hawaii with our fam.

On Monday and Tuesday Danny practiced while the boys and I went to the beach and hung around the resort where we were staying. Wednesday the rains came in with some pretty incredible flash floods which entirely closed the course down so we got some unexpected Daddy time in the hotel watching Tangled (so cute). Thursday we also got some extra family time since they called off play completely and again closed down the course because it was under a lake. We went and found a little covered driving range where Danny and Jack hit balls while Patton and I watched them from the car.

Play resumed Friday and I got to watch 9 holes thanks to the incredible child care that they have out here. Danny shot 1 over on Friday but was not feeling too far off which was proven by his 6 under on Saturday (low round for the day) which then put him above the cut line in an unusually small cut. Sunday was a long day since the rain forced a 36 hole Sunday. The boys and I packed up the hotel and went to church in the morning and then I caught the last round. Danny shot even both rounds and finished in a tie for 36th I think :) I should look it up but I don't want to lose my groove here:)

Anyway in summary, it was a great start to our first year on the PGA tour as well as to our year on the road with the Summerhays clan. We got to see and hang out with some good old friends as well as meet some new ones. We are all very excited for whatever this year has in store and are so grateful for all the love and support you all show us (OK so I think Jules and maybe my mom are our only followers as of yet so we are very grateful for both of you:) All right this is too long of a post so I'll finish but I am planning to write again next week on our adventures in Palm Springs. Much love.

A New Resolve

So today I was on the phone with my sweet mom in missouri and I was telling her something about the boys and she mentioned how she wished she had a way of seeing them more or something to that effect and I thought, oh ya I have a blog:). So despite my frustration at not being able to figure out "lo how to post a picture and and my realization that it may be one of the most boring looking blogs on the web cause im not entirely sure how to make it cute, I am going to attempt a post a week. Just a quick rundown on the week and maybe a few fun pics of us in whatever city we happen to be in. If for noone else than just for my mom and anyone else who never gets to see us or has ever asked me "wait what city are you in again"...heres to you.
P.S. Pictures and the first official post will have to wait until next week since my computer and all my pictures are back in california with our bus. I know kind of anticlimatic but im just hoping to prolong your anticipation...
